…Clem Roberts is the best player on her youth baseball team and dreams of following in her father’s footsteps by playing professional baseball. But a play at second base triggers a horrendous crash that tragically leaves Clem paralyzed from the waist down.

As she comes to terms with the implications of her injury, she volunteers to be the youth baseball team’s public address announcer and the scorekeeper for the local minor league team. When both of the radio broadcasters get food poisoning, Clem fills in as the play-by-play announcer… and a star is born. It’s a coming-of-age story for the whole family.
